- Pending
- Your application is being processed. No action is needed.
- Approved
- Your NZeTA is ready. You can travel with the passport you used to apply.
- Declined
- You can't use an NZeTA for this trip. Contact us to discuss your options.

How to check your NZeTA status

We emailed it to you when you submitted your application. Check your inbox and spam folder.

See whether each traveller is pending, approved or declined, and download approved NZeTAs.

Enter your application reference number and the email address you used when you applied, then select "Check status". Your current status is shown straight away.
Normal processing usually takes 48–72 hours, Emergency 24–48 hours and Rush 12–24 hours. Allow up to 72 hours, as some applications need extra checks by the New Zealand immigration authorities.
Your application is still being processed. The decision is made by the New Zealand immigration authorities, and we email you as soon as it has been made. You can check back here at any time.

No. Wait until your status shows approved before you travel. Airlines check your NZeTA at check-in and can refuse boarding without one.
