Immigration New Zealand defines the NZeTA as an online assessment provided to residents of non-EU countries who are visiting New Zealand without the requirement of a Visa. There is a small fee associated with the evaluation. Additionally, non-EU visitors may be subject to an additional tourist tax known as the International Visitors Conservation (IVL) Levy. A supplementary tax applies to non-EU visitors who enter on a ‘visa waiver’ (without the visa requirement).<\/span><\/p>\r\n

If you travel to NZ on an Alternative Visa, you do not need an NZeTA.<\/b><\/p>\r\n

The NZeTA is only required if the individual travels to New Zealand on a visitor visa from the “visa waiver country” (as indicated above). If the individual is travelling on a different visa (e.g. a paid Visitor visa, a Working Holiday visa, a Student visa or another work visa), an NZeTA is not required because the individual has already paid the fees associated with the purchase of their visa.<\/span><\/p>\r\n
